Tesla Model X recalled; 2,700 units affected


Some 2,700 Tesla Model X crossovers that were delivered before March 26th are being recalled due to a rear seatback flaw. All of them are found in the U.S.


According to Automotive News, during a frontal-crash test using stricter European Union standards (where the Model X is preparing to launch), a latch meant to hold the seat upright collapsed under the weight of a simulated passenger.


Units built after March 26th don’t have that problem. After informing its customers of the defect, Tesla will issue a formal recall through the National Highway Traffic Safety…
