Akebono Brake Corp. has named former Mahle Behr executive Wilm Uhlenbecker as its CEO, replacing interim CEO Kanji Miyajima.
Uhlenbecker was president of air conditioning and engine cooling supplier Mahle Behr America Inc. in the Detroit suburb of Troy, Mich.
Miyajima will serve as an executive adviser to Uhlenbecker, the company said in a news release Monday. Brake supplier Akebono, the U.S. subsidiary of Akebono Brake Industry Co. Ltd. of Japan, is headquartered in Farmington Hills, Mich., another Detroit suburb.
